Privacy Policy
Best Immigration Case Tracker is operated by Best Immigration Services, Inc. We are not a law firm and are not affiliated with or endorsed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency.
1. Scope
This policy explains what information the app processes, why it is used, when it is shared, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you. It applies to the Best Immigration Case Tracker mobile app, its supporting web services, and app-related support requests.
2. Information processed
Information you enter
- USCIS receipt numbers used to request a case-status result.
- Immigration-related selections, including petition category, country of chargeability, priority date, whether you are inside or outside the United States, inspection or admission status, and status-maintenance answers.
- Asylum-tracker details, including case type, filing date, optional receipt number, biometrics date, interview date, and applicant-caused delay days.
- An email address only if you voluntarily use a feature that expressly asks for it. The Phase 2 notification button is not connected to an email service and does not transmit the address.
- Information you send when contacting support, such as your name, email address, message, and any attachment you choose to provide.
Device and technical information
The app uses Apple notification permission and on-device notification scheduling when you choose reminders. Our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited request information, such as IP address, request date and time, requested endpoint, response status, and device or browser technical data, for delivery, security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
Information we do not intentionally collect
The app does not request precise geolocation, contacts, photos, financial-account information, payment-card information, medical records, health data, or genetic information. The current Android version does not request the Android Advertising ID permission. The app has no advertising and does not create a user account in the reviewed build.
3. How information is used
We use information only to provide a feature you request, calculate an informational result, retrieve public reference information, schedule a local reminder, respond to support, protect the service, diagnose errors, and comply with law. We do not use app data to make automated legal decisions. App results are informational and are not legal advice.
We do not combine app entries to create advertising profiles. We do not use or share identifiable, pseudonymized, de-identified, or anonymized app information for marketing, targeted advertising, data brokerage, or unrelated research.
4. On-device processing and storage
Asylum clock calculations and optional reminders are processed on your device. Reminder details are stored by your device's notification system. The reviewed build does not provide user accounts and does not upload asylum-tracker entries to the app database. Closing or resetting a tracker clears its current screen state; removing scheduled reminders or deleting the app clears the corresponding on-device information, subject to normal device backups controlled by you or Apple.
5. Network requests and sharing
Some features require encrypted HTTPS network requests. We disclose only the information needed for the requested function:
- USCIS: a receipt number may be sent through our service to the official USCIS Case Status API when you request a status lookup. USCIS uses it to return the requested status and operates under federal privacy and security requirements.
- Netlify: hosts app functions and routes requests. Netlify may process request content and limited technical logs to deliver and protect the service.
- Supabase: stores read-only public reference data, such as Visa Bulletin entries, document checklists, and processing-time estimates. Requests may include petition category, country, form, office, or language. The reviewed database schema does not store user profiles or tracker histories.
- Google/Firebase: the Android app may use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications. Google may process device, app-installation, notification-token, delivery, diagnostic, and technical information to provide and secure that service under Google's privacy terms.
- Apple: distributes the iOS app and provides on-device notification and backup services under your Apple settings and Apple's own privacy terms.
- Authorities or advisers: information may be disclosed when legally required, to protect rights or safety, or to investigate fraud or security incidents. We will limit such disclosure to what is required.
We do not sell personal information for money or other valuable consideration. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share data with marketers or data brokers.
Our non-government service providers may process information only to provide contracted services, must protect it, and are prohibited from using or disclosing identifiable, pseudonymized, de-identified, or anonymized user information for their own purposes without your active consent. Government agencies are independent recipients governed by applicable law and their own published terms.
6. Your sharing choices and effects on others
You choose whether to perform a network lookup, enable reminders, enter optional information, or contact support. If you do not provide information required for a feature, that feature may not work, but other parts of the app remain available. Avoid entering another person's receipt number or family information unless you are authorized to do so. Immigration and family details can reveal another person's identity, relationship, or status and could affect their privacy if exposed. The app does not request genetic or family medical history.
7. Retention
- Current tracker entries: kept in active app memory or on the device only as needed for the feature; no account or dormant-account profile exists in the reviewed build.
- Local reminders: kept on the device until they fire, repeat, are canceled, or the app is deleted.
- Operational logs: retained only as reasonably needed for security and troubleshooting, ordinarily no more than 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to investigate an identified security incident.
- Support records: ordinarily retained for up to 24 months after the request is closed, unless law or an ongoing dispute requires longer retention.
When a retention period ends, information is deleted or de-identified using reasonable safeguards. We do not retain personal information merely because the app has not been used.
8. Deletion, access, correction, and account closure
The reviewed app has no account to close. You can delete on-device information by resetting the tracker, canceling reminders in the app or device settings, and deleting the app. To request permanent deletion of information held by Best Immigration Services, Inc., or to request access or correction, email Johnny@bestimmigrationservices.com with the subject “Best Immigration Case Tracker Privacy Request,” or write to the address below. Do not email a full Social Security number, passport, or other unnecessary document.
We will acknowledge a request within 10 business days and complete verified deletion requests within 30 calendar days, unless law permits or requires more time. We will tell you if an exception applies. Deletion from encrypted backups may occur through the normal backup-rotation cycle, and retained copies remain protected and unavailable for ordinary use. You may also request that we stop future sharing where applicable. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
9. California privacy rights
California residents may request access to categories and specific pieces of personal information, correction, deletion, and information about disclosures, subject to legal exceptions. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. An authorized agent may submit a request, but we may verify the agent's authority and your identity. Use the contact method in Section 8.
10. Security and breach notice
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS in transit, access controls, least-privilege database rules, and secure handling of production API keys and OAuth credentials. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law and without unreasonable delay. The notice will explain what happened, the information involved, steps we took, and practical actions you can take, such as changing credentials, monitoring accounts, or contacting the appropriate agency.
11. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information may contact us for deletion.
12. Ownership changes or closure
We will notify users in the app and, when available, by email before personal information is transferred because of a merger, acquisition, sale, reorganization, or closure. A successor acting for us must honor protections consistent with this policy. Before a materially different use or transfer, we will provide a plain-language notice and a meaningful choice to securely delete the information or, where applicable, download or transmit it. We do not intentionally collect health information; if a future feature does, users will be offered a secure way to dispose of, download, or transmit it before any ownership transfer.
13. Policy changes and active consent
We will post a dated, plain-language summary of changes. For a material change affecting collection, use, sharing, retention, or user rights, the app will display the updated policy and require an affirmative action, such as tapping “Agree,” before the affected feature is used. Silence, continued background use, or a preselected box will not count as active consent. If you decline, the affected feature may be unavailable, and deletion options will remain available.
